Comments from guests
The Lively Hope is an imaginatively designed, spacious
open-plan cottage that sleeps 4-6 comfortably in three separate
bedrooms, with a ground floor shower room and a separate upstairs
bathroom with roll-top cast iron bath. The property is well-equipped
and has constant hot water, underfloor heating, and a dishwasher
and washer-dryer. The main rooms enjoy outstanding views over the
Exe estuary.
The accommodation comprises:
GROUND FLOOR
Entrance hall with stairs and understair shower room
and toilet.
Spacious open plan living room with extensive river
views, open fire, sitting area with TV/DVD player, and light and
airy conservatory opening to the small riverside walled garden (ideal
for eating out in fine weather). An ancient (and still very productive)
vine that has been in the property for decades provides shade in
the conservatory as well as grapes during summer and autumn.
The galley/kitchen off the conservatory is well-equipped,
with cooker, fridge, dishwasher and microwave.
Just off the galley/kitchen, ‘The Hide’
is a riverside study and occasional bedroom with daybed that converts
to a double bed. The river views from ‘The Hide’ are
magnificent!
Another bedroom, ‘The Cabin’ leads off
from the main living area. This wood-panelled bedroom has twin beds,
built in cupboards, and a travel cot.
FIRST FLOOR
Stairs lead to the ‘The Sail Loft’, a
spacious, sloped-ceiling master bedroom with outstanding and extensive
views across the Exe to the Haldon Hills.
There is an adjoining bathroom with a roll-top cast
iron bath and toilet.
